Vanessa Hoe, marketing director at Cookes, said: “It was such a fun- filled day as always, but this year was even more memorable, as we celebrated 70 years of being part of the local community too. The support from all of our staff, family and friends was overwhelming. There was a real community spirit, the atmosphere was electric. We can’t wait to find out what our final fundraising figure is, so fingers crossed we beat last year’s amount raised. We are so pleased the event was an enormous success and want to thank everyone who came along and supported us across the finish line.”
Now in its 14th year, the Great Midlands Fun Run raised a grand total of £347,024 for charities across Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield last year. This year’s final fundraising total will be announced at a prestigious ceremony in November.
