Cookes Furniture charity dinner a success: We’re pleased to announce we raised a wonderful £1,600 at an exclusive charity meal held at our Midlands store last week.

We invited the local community to join us in-store at Edwards Restaurant in support of the Cancer Support Centre in Sutton Coldfield.

More than 50 people attended the event, where guests walked the red carpet before enjoying a four-course gourmet meal with wine and fizz followed by a prize raffle. The event was a sell-out with tickets priced at £25 each and 100 per cent of the funds raised going to the Centre.

The Cancer Support Centre, based on Lindridge Road, works alongside local health services, hospices and other cancer charities to provide people affected by cancer and their carers with access to support, information and complementary therapies at every stage of their cancer journey.

Vanessa Hoe, marketing director at Cookes Furniture, said: “The turnout for the event was fantastic and we are so pleased to have raised such a nice amount for the Cancer Support Centre. We have worked closely with the Cancer Support Centre for a number of years having supported them through various charity events and admire all of the wonderful work they do for people in the West Midlands affected by cancer.”; 8th December 2015
